Abstract

This study evaluates perceptions of AI-assisted no-code website development using the Wix platform among small and medium enterprise (SME) owners in Tangerang, Indonesia. The study employs a descriptive quantitative approach based on questionnaire data collected from 30 SME owners, supported by direct observation of Wix AI-assisted features. A five-point Likert scale was used to assess perceived ease of use, time efficiency, user satisfaction, and design quality. The descriptive results show positive perceptions across all four indicators, with time efficiency receiving the highest percentage (83%), followed by user satisfaction (80%), ease of use (78%), and design quality (75%). The findings indicate that respondents generally perceived AI-assisted Wix development as accessible and time-efficient for creating a basic website without conventional programming. However, the study does not establish causal effects of AI, objectively benchmark development time against traditional coding, or directly measure cost reduction. Therefore, the findings should be interpreted as evidence of user perceptions rather than experimental evidence of AI effectiveness. The study contributes empirical evidence from SME owners in Tangerang regarding the perceived benefits and practical limitations of AI-assisted no-code website development.
